When researching for part of my first book, a friend of mine, Ian Spiby who lives on the island, sent me some intriguing photos of large fossils he came across on the beach near Fornells, Menorca.
Anyone have any ideas on what these creatures were? Ian has left his wristwatch to help estimate the size of these imprints.

Wow! How neat! I love a mystery. When you find out let me know. All the best….

So fascinating. Do not know what creature it was but am so awed wondering who it intrigues humanity millions of years after it ever lived.

Perhaps an upturned jellyfish. Would explain the smooth blob in the middle and the tentacle-like structures in the outer rim.

Very interesting theory, I shall pass this on to our friend in Menorca. Thank you

What ever they were they just look really creepy to me, but that could be my over active imagination .

I agree. I imagine they were quite a fright.
