The last few months have been hectic, with the launch of my 3^rd book, A Storm On Any Course. To celebrate the launch of the final book in the Zander Trilogy, and my retiral from writing, we put out an offer to not only purchase a copy, but to also have their names printed at the rear of the book, under the title of Donors.

All money received would be donated to our nominated charity, Get2gether. (They arrange social activities for people with disabilities in safe and friendly places in Edinburgh and the Lothians).

With very limited access available, due to the pandemic and restrictions, it was a challenge trying to engage with the decision makers of businesses to promote the book, even Amazon had a lengthy waiting list.

So, we had to rely on asking friends and acquaintances who could contribute to this worthwhile cause. There were dozens of people who responded and eagerly wanted to help this charity. Old athletics friends, golfing friends, business associates and neighbours, friends of friends etc, all had one common theme, that they wanted to ‘give’ something to this charity.

We managed to raise an amazing sum of £1200 for Get2gether, through the outstanding generosity of everyone we approached.

Some of the 900 members of Get2gether created a special cheque, to show their own appreciation to the many donors involved.

They were attending a show at the King’s Theatre in Edinburgh over the festive period and took time out to pose for some photographs, which we are delighted to share with you here.

Thank again to everyone who donated, and helped spread the word of our charity drive.
